PRP stands for Pieroth, Romanet and Piccolomini. Our company has been in the United States for over 40 years, and one of our missions is to donate to charitable causes. Originally, the Pieroth Brothers came to the US in 1972. The idea of the in-home wine sampling was born on the Pieroth Estate in Germany, and gradually grew to include invitations to hotel wine tastings and other great events.
Over time, the Pieroth family partnered with the Romanet family from France and the Piccolomini family from Italy. These two other families also owned their own vineyards and extensive wine cellars, and represent all three of the premier classic wine growing countries in Western Europe. PRP Wine International was formed in 1989.
The in home wine sampling allows you to accomplish four things:
- You can select wines by personal taste, not by how attractive the label is.
- You have the opportunity to sample a variety of different wines in an intimate environment.
- You have the chance to experience unique and rare wines from around the world, not just from one winery.
- You gain confidence in the wines you select as being perfect for your tastes and uses.
This process allows PRP to educate our clients a little bit on the world of wine and more importantly, explore the how’s and why’s of what they enjoy. It helps make wine buying a fun, convenient and enjoyable experience. PRP sells wine from one of the three founding family’s personal wine estates and from American and International boutique wineries, where we buy the entire production of each vintage we sell. PRP wines are low in natural sulfites and we never add any sulfites to the wine that we sell. These wines are exclusive to PRP and not available in any restaurants or retail outlets in the United States, and represent an excellent value.
