Shelter to Soldier is a 501c3 nonprofit that adopts dogs from local shelters and rescue organizations and trains them to become psychiatric service dogs for post-9/11 veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and/or Military Sexual Trauma (MST).  The program also places emotional support animals (ESAs) with active-duty military and veterans, and deploys the Shelter to Soldier Canine Ambassadors, a team of certified therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers, to provide visits of love and comfort to local military, veterans and their families. Presented by Cox Communications with event partners Ranch & Coast Magazine and 100.7 BIG FM, the 10th Anniversary Be the Light Gala will be held on August 13th, 2022 under the stars at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in San Diego, CA. Three-hundred (300) guests will gather to celebrate the impact of the Shelter to Soldier program and raise funds, with a $180,000 goal, to support our dedication to homeless dogs and veterans in need. Auction items and services donated by our local community partners, friends, and local businesses will be prominently displayed at the 10th Anniversary Be the Light Gala auction and given to the winners of our opportunity drawing, silent, and live auctions of the event.

We invite you and ask for your generous support in helping to raise funds for Shelter to Soldier, and we greatly appreciate any contributions you can provide for this event. All gifts are tax-deductible and will receive an official letter from Shelter to Soldier for tax documentation purposes within 6 weeks of the event.
