Hello, 

My name is Marisa Garber-Brown and I am Co-President of the PS 35 PTA.  We are located in Staten Island, NY.  Our 501c non-profit number is 82-2788303.

As many of you are aware NYC school budgets have been cut over the years and programs had to be removed from the curriculum. Extra money and enrichment programs are allocated to schools open in areas where the average school family income is lowest and can do most good. 

While we understand and commend this way of thinking, schools like our own often fall into the middle of the road. Our school community income is above what is deemed “needy” yet we are a small school that cannot depend solely on our working class families to make up the difference and give our children extra enrichment to round out their education. It is our goal as PTA to purchase signs for the outside of our school to recognize student and teacher achievements, and keep parents informed of upcoming activities. On April 4, 2020 we will be hosting our 11th Annual Fundraiser. It is our largest and most important fundraising event. All proceeds will go towards various extra enrichment opportunities for our students. 

We are reaching out to both big businesses and the local small business community asking for donations to help us reach our goal this year of $10,000. Either with basket donations or monetary donation, any donation you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

In acknowledgement of your generous contribution we will recognize your business as a school supporter and sponsor on the PTA website, our Facebook page and the event flyer, which will reach the families of all students enrolled in our school, as well as our surrounding community.
