Dear Friends & Supporters,

Dominican Village conscientiously seeks ways to provide for the special needs of our residents without passing on additional expense to them. With this in mind, we are now preparing for our 12th annual Chinese Auction Extravaganza and we invite you to join us for this spectacular event on Friday, October 5th from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the Helen Butler Hall.

Last year we netted $25,000 towards the goal of installing a generator in the Helen Butler Hall for use when an emergency evacuation might be required.  This year’s goal is ambitious yet vital, and we are committed to raising $165,000 to defray the cost of installing new windows for our residents in the Assisted Living Program. 

In addition to our usual display of more than 100 baskets on auction, we will have separate raffles for prizes including Flat Screen TV’s and an Apple Mac Laptop. Golden prizes include lottery trees, Walt Disney hopper passes and designers’ handbags.

If you are unable to attend the evening extravaganza, a public preview of all auction items will be held on the same day, Friday, October 5th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please bring self addressed labels to attach to your raffle stubs. Winners need not be present.

Your donations are greatly appreciated! Please see the insert for items needed. Your donation items may be dropped off daily on or before Friday, September 21st at Dominican Village, 565 Albany Avenue, Amityville NY, from 9:00am to 7:00pm.

Dominican Village is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian senior housing/assisted living facility sponsored by the Sisters of St. Dominic. Currently serving over two hundred residents, its mission is “to provide a supportive environment in which the sacredness of life and the dignity of each person are held in the highest regard. We offer our residents a choice of programs and services which foster independence, promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and maximize opportunities for socialization.”
