Description

Please consider supporting our 12 th Annual Links for Health Golf Tournament scheduled for October 29th, 2022, at the Kissimmee Bay County Club.

Why Support the St. Thomas Clinic?
Living in poverty has a tremendous negative impact on a person’s health and wellbeing. As reported in the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment, poverty and low wages are major barriers to obtaining affordable healthcare for many individuals throughout the county. In fact, 38.8% Osceola residents are living below 200% of the federal poverty line. This equates to roughly 131,384 people who need, and qualify for, the quality medical care provided by our St. Thomas Free Medical Clinic. Consider as well that this data predates the COVID-19 global pandemic. The subsequent job and income loss has certainly increased the number of residents who are uninsured and living in poverty.

The St. Thomas Aquinas Free Medical Clinic is a program of Catholic Charities in Central Florida in partnership with the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Located in St. Cloud, it is one of the few places in Osceola County that exists to help the uninsured by providing free healthcare to adults and children living in poverty. Since 2008, we have provided over 12,000 free patient visits! This is possible only because of the generosity of the doctors, nurses and administrative volunteers who dedicate their time and talent, and because of donors like you.
