Description

Here at the Greater Carbondale YMCA, elves have been planning ahead for an exciting time of year – our Annual Christmas Festival! This festival benefits over 800 families in the Upper Valley region of Lackawanna County.  The Christmas Festival will be held on Saturday, December 3rd from 4-8pm.

The Christmas Festival is held in conjunction with the City of Carbondale’s “Christmas in a Small Town” initiative and light parade. The Festival boasts an array of games, food, pictures with Santa, crafts, and a visit from Santa. Children may also pre-register to participate in Grinch School. Participants hear the story of "The Grinch", make a Grinch heart ornament, race through the YMCA to gather gifts, and make tasty Grinch snacks. Upon completion, the children receive a diploma.

In conjunction with the Festival, the YMCA sells raffle tickets to raise additional funds. These raffle tickets are used for taking a chance on any of the donated baskets displayed in our lobby. This is where we need your help. We are asking you to consider donating a gift certificate or merchandise for the Festival.  We recognize there is a cost to you, but we can ensure you the benefits will be greater. Your business will be promoted to over 4,800 YMCA members and the community at large.  Last year’s event was by far our largest and most successful. We anticipate this trend to continue! Your investment will be exponentially increased through ticket sales to help the YMCA.  All donations should be at the YMCA no later than November 25th so we can promote your business.

Proceeds from our Christmas Festival are used to offer financial assistance for youth members, autism support groups, and develop additional youth/family programs.  At the YMCA we are for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
