Description

CORSE (Community of Resources for Special Education) is a 501(c)(3) charity, established by a group of dedicated parents and educators to raise funds to provide the highest quality social, academic,  recreation, therapeutic and work skills development programming so children with special needs can reach their full potential.  Through fundraising activities, the Foundation is able to allocate funds for a wide range of supplemental resources that will benefit children, parents and educators within our South Shore communities.  In the past 14 years, CORSE has committed over $1,275,000 toward programs that address a wide variety of supplemental needs including: academic and social development programs, various recreation programs (such as “All Stars” sports programs, summer camps, “iCan Bike Camp”, AccesSports sailing and surfing camp, therapeutic horseback riding), music therapies, work skills training and internships, technology and equipment, professional staff development, parent training as well as community events for families with children with special needs. Not only is this community foundation able to develop customized programs to meet children’s specific needs, it also offers programs that are more affordable to families than private services that are overenrolled and very costly.  Most importantly, children with special needs are provided the opportunity to successfully participate in programs within their own community, integrated alongside their classmates and neighbors.  To date, we have run 626 programs with 9,148 student registrations. Each year we run more than 50 programs with >850 student registrations.  Our foundation’s administrative overhead is EXTREMELY low, 4.9% so funds do go directly to the children.  Awards include:
·       2016 South Shore Conservatory Community Partnership Award
·       2016 Scituate Recreation Community Spirit Award
·       2016 FOX25 Hometown Team Award
·       2015 Myra Kraft Community MVP Award second prize winner from the New England Patriots Foundation
·       2014 primary speaker at the first Flutie Foundation Partner Summit
·       2011 Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association Program Outreach Award
·       2009 “Citizen of the Year” in Scituate
·       2008 Massachusetts Community Partnership Award from the Federation for Children with Special Needs

On Friday, June 12th, we will be holding our major fundraiser, the 14th Annual CORSE Golf Tournament.  We are hoping you would consider making a tax-deductible donation this year.   In recognition of your contribution, you will be listed with appreciation in our event brochure, website as well as other community publicity materials. Your donation would be appreciated and considered your annual contribution. We will forward you a tax deduction receipt for your records.

This tournament is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to support some of our most vulnerable children, with all proceeds benefiting programming customized for children with special needs. Enclosed is a donation form to provide a sponsorship donation or an auction item, service or gift certificate for the Tournament. We would like all donation forms submitted by May 29th.   Thank you in advance for your consideration.
