A Dinner Dance to benefit Shady Oaks Camp will be held at DiNolfo’s Banquets, Homer Glen, IL on Friday, April 19th, 2024. The Dinner Dance is planned to be an evening of dining, dancing and fun. We are looking for your support by being a sponsor and/or donating silent auction or raffle basket items. All sponsors will be recognized in our event program, have their name on signage at the event and will be mentioned during any promotion of the event. Donors will be listed in our event program and have their name on signage at the event.

Shady Oaks Camp is a 501(c) (3), non-profit organization that offers outdoor experiences and recreational opportunities for children and adults with all disabilities. Our camp program enriches the lives of people with disabilities within a community setting of their peers. SOC boasts an almost unheard of 1:1 camper to counselor ratio with a large majority of our college aged staff coming from all over the world (15 countries in 2022). Our staff add a unique international feel that many of our campers may otherwise never experience if it wasn’t for SOC. Shady Oaks is also one of the only camps in existence that that is owned and operated by the parents, families and friends of the campers that attend camp.

Since Shady Oaks Camp is a not for profit, private organization, the money to run camp each year ($450,000+) must be raised by the parents and volunteers. No funding is received from the government or outside organizations. Because of this, fundraisers such as the Dinner Dance are vital to the success of Shady Oaks Camp.

We hope that through the funds we raise from our dinner dance, as well as the continued assistance of our many supporters, Shady Oaks Camp will continue to be a positive resource to our current and future campers for many years to come.  So won’t you please join us in expanding our dream, to enable Shady Oaks Camp to continue serving the needs of people with disabilities in our community.
