Description

14 years ago Larchmont Charter was merely a dream. Since 2005, our “small” neighborhood school has blossomed from nine K-2 classrooms and 225 students, to over 1,500 students, K thru 12, on four campuses, from West Hollywood to Koreatown. Every day, we are fulfilling our mission as a truly socio-economically diverse public charter school, offering a world-class education to children from all over Los Angeles. Larchmont Charter, we believe, reflects what great public education can and should be.

Last year the very first kindergarten class of Larchmont Charter School graduated from our high school and headed off to college. This was a tremendous milestone for our community; we feel significant pride in creating a K-12th grade program that is a pillar of academic excellence in Los Angeles. As we consider that history, we begin to look towards our future in a meaningful way. We are now the proud owners of the building that houses our 7th-12th grade program. This means we can make our vision for the future of public education a dynamic reality in a space that is truly our own. We are so excited and optimistic about the next chapter in our story!

The proof is in the pudding: our first two graduating classes have had average college acceptance rates of 97% and are currently attending college at Stanford, NYU, UCLA, and Berkeley, as well as virtually all the other UC’s and Cal States. This exceptional school helped mold our children into thoughtful young adults, ready to contribute to their world.

All that said, we need your support to continue to thrive. The hard reality is every year we face a $1.8 million deficit that only fundraising will address.

On May 10th, 2019 we will hold our Annual Gala & Silent Auction, a wonderful celebration, and the cornerstone of our fundraising. Every penny we raise goes directly into our classrooms: keeping our class sizes small; paying for arts and music enrichment; and, yes, paying our rent.

As in years past, we hope you will consider donating to our silent auction. Your donation – and business – will be featured (with your permission) on the very popular charitable website BiddingforGood.com. BiddingForGood reaches over 600,000 shoppers to whom we will promote your business, logo, photographs, and link to your website.

Thank you, as always, for turning our dream into a vibrant reality,
