Description

To Whom It May Concern:

We are writing to request your support for our Squadron’s major fund-raising event. 872 Squadron’s 15th Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Auction will take place on November 16th at the Kanata Recreation Complex 100 Charlie Rogers Pl, Kanata, ON K2V 1A2. We
are requesting your support this year either by becoming one of our corporate sponsors or through a donation of a product/service or a gift certificate to be used in our LIVE or SILENT Auction.

To show our appreciation all sponsors and donors will have their businesses promoted as outlined on the reverse side of this letter. Our 15th Annual Spaghetti Dinner brings up to 160 cadets, parents and members of the community together for a fun & delicious dinner combined with a live and silent auction, raffle prizes, door prizes and more. 872 Kiwanis Kanata Air Cadet Squadron has been in operation in western Ottawa for over twenty five years. To this day Cadets remains one of Canada’s premiere youth organizations. Last year we had 190 members of our Squadron, ages 12-18, who are engaged in as many as 3 or 4 activities weekly, in addition to training camps.

The goal of this program is to provide cadets with the opportunity to develop as individuals and team players, to enhance their knowledge related to flight and flying, to contribute to their community through volunteer service and participation in Remembrance Day and similar activities, and to grow into responsible young Canadians. As you can imagine, the cost of running the program is significant; in the 2018/19 cadet year it was over $140,000. We received approx. $30,000 in funding from DND which left us with an annual fundraising requirement of approx. $110,000. This year we anticipate a similar number of cadets and therefore a similar fundraising amount. These funds go towards such things as: rental of school/community halls for administration and training purposes, weekend-long outdoor training activities; Air Cadet League fees; first aid training; and a host of other activities designed to bring out the best in our cadets. We will be providing a program of the evening events including a list of auction items and sponsors for all who attend. In order to ensure that we can get your information in our program and on the signage at the event we request all sponsorship and donations be submitted by NO later than November 7th, 2018.

We ask that you consider making a donation to this very worthy cause.
