15th Annual Think Postive Gala
Gala/Party for Epilepsy Foundation of ConnecticutNov 13, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
On Friday November 13, 2021, the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut will be hosting the 15th annual “Think Positive” Gala at the Aqua Turf in Southington. The Gala is held each year to raise awareness and critically needed funds to improve the lives of people living with epilepsy, by providing them and their families with the latest information on research and emerging therapies, vital educational resources, recreational opportunities, unwavering advocacy, and invaluable support as we pursue the dream of a cure.
We are writing to request an item for the silent auction that will take place during this event.
The Gala’s title, “Think Positive”, originated with Kate Bayles, a young woman with epilepsy who was concerned about increasing awareness of epilepsy. Kate came up with the idea of creating a bracelet with the Epilepsy Foundation logo and the words, “Think Positive” on the bracelet.
There are approximately 36,000 people in Connecticut who have epilepsy and an estimated 50,000,000 worldwide. Epilepsy is the most common neurological disorder in the United States after Alzheimer’s disease and stroke. It is equal in prevalence to cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease combined. Yet, of major chronic conditions, it is among the least understood even though one in three adults knows someone with the disorder.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut leads the fight to stop seizures, find a cure and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy. Please consider supporting our organization and joining us as we “Think Positive”.
If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to call Monica Anzelone at 860-346-1924 or email monica@epilepsyct.com. We can accept donations until one week prior to the event date.
