Description

On Friday, June 23rd, 2076 the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville will host their 16th Annual Beauty of the Spirit Luncheon at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.

The Sisters of St. Dominic, a religious community of over 500 members, began in 1853 when four Sisters left Regensburg, Germany to minister to German immigrants in Most Holy Trinity Parish, Williamsburg, New York.  From this small beginning in Brooklyn, the Sisters have developed numerous educational, social services, and hospital institutions steeped in the Dominican tradition of preaching. The Sisters work in varied capacities as executive directors, administrators, staff, or volunteers at an assortment of education, health, and human service organizations. Programs offered by the Congregation include youth ministry, spiritual direction, parish outreach, arts and literature initiatives, increasing literacy, environmental sustainability, family support services, eliminating homelessness, job training, access to affordable health care, senior services, peace and justice initiatives, and immigrant services.

Each year our luncheon celebrates the beauty of the spirit of women - their strength, compassion, and wisdom. Our guests enjoy fantastic auctions and raffles, as well as an inspirational lecture from a Sister keynote speaker. Proceeds from the event benefit our retired Sisters - the beautiful and dedicated women who have spent their entire lives serving the people of God; now it is our turn to care for them.

Last year we raised over $110,000 for the needs of our Sisters residing at the Motherhouse in Amityville, NY.  Our goal for this year is $135,000.  By being a sponsor you will be promoting your company to a group of people who are very loyal to its supporters, as well as to the many area professionals who will be attending the luncheon.
