In celebration of our 33rd year of service to the historic Harlem community, HCCI will host the 17th Annual "Let Us Break Bread Together" Awards Gala at the Marina del Rey in Throgs Neck, New York from 6-9:30 pm.

Our distinguished honorees include Vy Higginsen, Founder and Executive Director of MAMA Foundation for the Arts for her influential leadership and tireless commitment to the youth and community; Michael J. Garner, President of One Hundred Black Men of New York for his tireless commitment to bettering the Black community; Rev. Reginald Williams, President/CEO of Addicts Rehabilitation Center of New York for his tireless commitment to servicing the community; and Jennifer Jones Austin, Esq., Executive Director & CEO of FPWA for her commitment to nonprofit leadership and development.

Denise Richardson, Communication's Director, The Salvation Army and best known for her work on PBS/WNET/Broadway and "Good Morning America" will be the Mistress of Ceremonies.

Last year major league baseball player Darryl Strawberry joined us and shared the success of the comprehensive addictive treatment centers he co-founded throughout the southeast.  This program aligns with targetted treatment centers we will soon open for those vulnerable individuals located throughout central Harlem.

HCCI has developed over 3500 units of low-to-moderate income housing, secured employment for 3000 individuals, provided supportive health and human service facilities, including 60 units of scattered-site housing for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS; 21 units of supportive housing for youth aging out of foster care; providing commercial development opportunities to local businesses, and expanded cultural programs.  HCCI also runs an after-school program that improves the scholastic achievement of elementary students with a focus on math and reading tutorials.  This program run in partnership with the New York Institute of Technology, the HCCI Computer Clubhouse provides young people with access to cutting-edge graphics, computer editing, and robotic programs focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.  In 2016, we opened a 10,500 sq.ft. full-service affordable daycare facility for over 150 children.  Lastly, our financial literacy program has counseled more than 35,000 residents through group seminars and individual homeownership counseling.  Visit our website at www.hcc.org.

We would be honored to receive donations to support our silent and "Live" auction.  This will be a great way for our community to learn about your products.
