The Cause

Gwen, age 16 from New Albany, and Allison, age 16 from Columbus are afflicted with a very serious and rare metabolic disorder called Propionic Acidemia (PA) and have already been hospitalized more than 50 times. There is not much that can be done for the treatment of PA and researchers have yet to find a cure. One of the most heart wrenching aspects of this disorder is that the median age of survivors is three years old. Members of your community are spearheading a fundraising effort for the Propionic Acidemia Foundation (PAF) and have already raised over $280,000 since the girls’ births. The Event

The Central Ohio Propionic Acidemia Fundraising Team is currently planning their 17th Annual Tailgate & Corn Hole Party for PAF Saturday, September 24, 2022. The year’s event will again be virtual with friends and family playing in their own backyards! Winners will be drawn at random from online participants, and the event will include our annual silent auction in an online format, live videos with Gwen and friends, photos, trivia, updates throughout the day, and more!

This tailgate and tournament has grown to become a “can’t-miss” event, and we anticipate our faithful supporters and new families across the U.S. to join us virtually this year. Last year over $10,000 was raised! Over 250 people participated in the event. With businesses like yours we can build on last year’s success and set a precedent for years to come.

The donation of a gift card will be used in our very popular gift card raffle, or if a gift basket is included, will be an item in our silent auction. Your donation can help us to exceed our fundraising goal of $15,000 and, more importantly, your businesses could be part of a community that make it a better place to live for those in need. All proceeds will benefit the PA Foundation directly by funding research and providing moral support to families living with PA.  This is a small organization, as the discovery of the disease is relatively recent, so every dollar counts!
