Team Liberty, a program of the NJ Sharing Network, comes together at the Donate Life Transplant Games and all year round to promote the success of organ transplantation, to raise awareness for the urgent need of organ and tissue donation, and to honor donors and their families who have so generously given the gift of life. Team Liberty is comprised of organ, tissue, and corneal transplant recipients and their families, donor families, living donors, and transplant professionals from Northern and Central New Jersey, New York City, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and Connecticut. The men, women, and children of Team Liberty embody incredible spirit, courage, energy, inspiration, humor, sportsmanship, and friendship.

The Donate Life Transplant Games is a biennial, multi-day athletic competition for organ, tissue, and corneal transplant recipients and living donors ages 2-99. Over 40 U.S. teams compete in events such as badminton, ballroom dancing, basketball, bowling, cornhole, cycling, darts, golf, racquetball, 5K race, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, trivia, volleyball, and more. Activities also include Opening and Closing Ceremonies and inspiring programs for donor families, living donors, transplant recipients and their families, and supporters. Since 1990, the Games have brought transplant and donor families together in the largest organ donation awareness event of its kind in a way that uplifts, inspires, and deeply touches everyone involved. Team Liberty continues to advocate for organ donation year-round on behalf of NJ Sharing Network, LiveOnNY, Donate Life Connecticut, and on its own. Members volunteer at organ donor registration tables, blood drives, fundraisers, motor vehicle agencies, local organ donation offices and more; they speak at high schools, hospitals, transplant centers, and support groups throughout the region.
