With Hope Foundation is having our 18th Annual 5K Walk/Run With Hope, “A Step for
Suicide Prevention”.

Since losing Amber Craig to suicide in 2005, With Hope Foundation has remained committed to
the mission of Suicide Prevention through our school and community-based programs and
support of individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide, but we need your help!

According to data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), suicide is the 2nd leading cause
of death among people aged 10-14 and 25-34, and the 3rd leading cause of death for 15-24-
year-olds. In 2021, 22% of high school students seriously considered attempting suicide, 18%
made a suicide plan, and 10% attempted suicide. Anxiety and depression diagnoses have
increased by 93% since the pandemic.

Research shows that through education, awareness, and intervention we can significantly
reduce the risk of suicide, thus saving lives. With Hope Foundation provides suicide prevention,
mental health education, resources, and postvention support services to students, staff, parents,
and community members throughout Southern California. Since 2005, we have provided these
services to over 330,000 individuals. As we prepare for the 2025 school year, we are eager to
continue our essential work and expand our programs in local schools and communities,
focusing on both suicide prevention and postvention support services.
