Description

Our 18th Annual Dinner & Auction will be held on April 13, 2019, at the I-Hotel & Conference Center from 5-10pm. The event is our largest individual fundraiser, and consists of silent and live auctions, as well as a program celebrating members of our community and the presentation of awards to distinguished student, alumni and volunteers. It is typically attended by 200-250 of our largest supporters, both locally and from the Chicago area. Through it we hope to raise $33,000, a substantial portion of our fundraising revenue. All proceeds go directly to the Y, to support our student programming and operational needs.

The University YMCA is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is the development of campus and community leaders committed to social justice, environmental protection, interfaith cooperation and global engagement by fostering dialogue, reflection and action.

Through these values we are focused on leadership development and connecting communities through dialogue and action, and all students and community members are welcome here. Our 11 student organizations serve upwards of 1,000 students and our staff programs focus on providing outreach into Champaign-Urbana, as well as abroad. These programs rely on our support for resources, funding, event space, guidance and many other areas. This support helps to give developing young minds a space through which they can grow and pursue their interests, and it gives them a home.

As we are separate from the University of Illinois, and do not charge membership fees, we are heavily reliant on the charitable giving of others. The success of our event, and our subsequent ability to provide a multitude of programming is due to the quality of the auction items we receive. All of our items are acquired through the generosity and donations of individuals and organizations such as yours. Any items donated will receive prominent placement in our auction, as well as be profiled in our Auction Book and on our website.
