Description

Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement, Inc. (HCCI) has postponed its 18th Annual "let Us Break Bread Awards Gala to Thursday, October 22, 2020 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.  The event will be held at the prestigious Marina del Rey in Throgs Neck, New York. 

The Awards Ceremony is a wonderful opportunity for HCCI to honor individuals who have made substantial contributions in cultural arts programs, finance, workforce development, health and human services, and real estate development.  

HCCI has made a substantial impact on the social and living conditions of Harlem in developing over 4,000 units of low to moderate income housing, securing employment for more than 3500 Harlemites; creating supportive health and human service facilities, including 60 units of scattered-site housing for those affected by HIV/AIDS; 21 units for young adults aging out of foster care; providing commercial development opportunities to local businesses; and expanding cultural programs.  HCCI also runs an after-school program that improves scholastic achievement of elementary students with a focus on math and reading tutorials. The Computer Clubhouse provides young people with access to cutting edge graphics, computer editing, film editing/producing, and robotics programs with a focus on science, technology, egineering, arts, math (STEAM).  Our financial literacy program has counseled more than 30,000 residents throiugh group seminars and individual homeownership counseling.  Please visit www.hcci.org for more information on HCCI's service and impact.
