Description

The Hopkins County Health Care Foundation will be holding its eighteenth Lights of Life Gala on January 27, 2024.  The gala has been popular with the Hopkins County community since it was first held in 2006.  Dinner, dancing, and fundraising for improved local health care options have always been the focus of the evening.  The event is always sold-out at the maximum attendance of 550.

Sponsorships range from $1,000 to $40,000, which include tickets and marketing perks.  Individual tickets are $250 each.

A live auction of unique items and experiences is held at the gala for the top 8-10 most expensive donated items, usually valued at $5,000 plus.  A silent auction runs throughout the evening for attendees as well as online individuals.  Items are usually valued at $100 plus.

Last year’s fundraising initiatives included four important health-related projects, all of which were funded:

·         Five new critical care beds for ICU at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs (CMFH-SS).

·         A Biodex Balance and Barihab Treatment Platform both for use in Inpatient Therapy at CMFH-SS.

·         A portable X-ray machine to be used in the Mobile Athletic Training Room at high school sporting events.

·         An educational program and equipment to teach young people the risks of impaired driving to be used by the Hopkins County Hospital District’s EMS.

The new projects have yet to be selected, but will benefit all of us in Hopkins County and provide us with care and opportunities not normally available in a community our size.

The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization that is lead by an all local board of volunteers.
