Description

Our school’s biggest fundraiser of the year – Shepherd’s 18th Annual Spring Gala and Auction – will be held on Saturday, April 1st, 2023, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, DC. We are seeking donations of amazing items, experiences, and gift certificates toward goods/services for inclusion in our auction. Your fully tax-deductible contribution is a great opportunity to introduce your business to hundreds of Shepherd families and their friends.

Let us share a few reasons why we believe our school is especially worthy of your donation. Shepherd Elementary School recently entered its 9th decade of providing quality public education to the diverse population of PK3 through 5th grade students in the Shepherd Park, Colonial Village, and North Portal Estates neighborhoods of Washington, DC. It is one of the few DC public schools to have achieved accreditation for its International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program for students aged 3 to 12. Shepherd’s dedicated staff strives to develop inquisitive, international-minded learners who think globally and act compassionately.

Thanks to the generosity of community businesses such as yours, our most recent Gala events earned over $50,000, which enabled PTO to fund procurement of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) materials for all classrooms at Shepherd Elementary. This year’s Gala proceeds will help the school to complete a large, outdoor facilities improvement project, as well as other school-led initiatives for curriculum enhancement and student/family engagement.

Thank you so much for your kind consideration of our request! Should you have any questions, please contact us directly at sesgala@shepherd-elementary.org and one of our volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible.
