1920's Speakeasy and Casino Benefit
Gala/Party for Warren County Historical Society/ Warren County History MuseumFeb 11, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The Warren County History Museum is experiencing a lot of growing pains and has a lot of room to grow and expand. We are hoping this next year to continue creating newer, more exciting, and engaging exhibits for kids and families. We hope to bring in field trips for the first time this spring and would like to have an outdoor children's interactive exhibit available at their pleasure. With this, we'd also like to get outdoor picnic tables for public use, and create a community garden, as well. There are also a lot of repairs the museum needs, including an elevator or lift to our upstairs offices, a new roof, painting, and flooring replaced, and new equipment in the gift shop, including a way for patrons to be able to pay with credit or debit card. This is just a sampling of the things we have planned, and the money raised at our benefit event will help to make that possible.
Our museum is going to host a 1920's casino and speakeasy event. We will use our event center. It will be made into a casino where folks can gamble and have fun. We will also have refreshments and food provided by a local shop called Market Alley Wines. There will also be a silent auction event, where folks can bid on items, goods, gift cards, gift baskets, and the like, and the profits received will go directly to the museum. With this, we will also have musical entertainment in the form of cabaret and jazz, which will likely be provided by volunteer students from the local college.
