Description

The Mission of the Barton Center for Diabetes Education is to improve the lives of children with insulin-dependent diabetes through education, recreation and support rograms which inspire and empower. Our Annual Auction fundraiser is to have funds to allow scholorships to be provided to underprivelaged youth with type 1 diabetes. Regardless of which of our camp programs these youth attend, campers from accross the country, and sometimes overseas, learn that they are not alone as well as that education is one of the most important tools in managing diabetes. Children find camaraderie at camp as they are faced with the typical challenges of growing up along with the heavy burden of living with diabetes and managing the disease. Our Auction includes music, dinner, silent and live auction items. We hope to raise as much money as possible so as many kids htat want to join us for camp, can do so. They are supported at camp with our educated camp staff and our Diabetes specialists, many of whom have type 1 diabetes themselves. On behalf of our staff and the families we serve, we appreciate your time and consideration.
