Description

Join us on Friday, May 31 for our 1st Annual Woodruff Golf Classic at the Simsbury Farms Golf Course in Simsbury, CT! This event marks the beginning of an annual tradition aimed at raising awareness and funds for individuals who bravely face the daily challenges of living with heart failure.

Brad Woodruff is a true inspiration who has confronted life with unmatched courage. Despite facing the daily hurdles of heart failure, Brad and his incredible wife Shaelin are determined to make a difference. They have decided to channel their strength and love into a cause that extends beyond their personal journey – the HeartBrothers Foundation. By hosting this golf tournament, the Woodruffs aim to raise funds and awareness for heart health, inspiring others to join the fight against heart failure.

HBF was founded in 2014 by two heart transplant survivors and is dedicated to helping heart failure patients and their families navigate the complicated world of heart failure, from early-stage heart failure to Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) and heart transplantation. HBF’s unique approach trains survivors and caregivers to become mentors and peer health educators and leverages our strong relationships with hospitals to connect new heart failure patients with Team HeartBrothers and other resources. We offer Patient Support Groups, webinars, mentorship, an Annual Symposium, and direct financial support for patients experiencing financial hardship. We also provide designated low-cost, short-term housing which provides stability for heart failure patients as they travel to Boston’s facilities to receive critical care. Our dedicated team pours their lived experience into providing resources, hope, and connection for heart failure patients during some of the most challenging times.

All proceeds from this event will go directly to HBF and will fund critical research, provide resources, and offer much-needed assistance to those navigating the challenges of heart-related illnesses.
