2018 Dominican Gala
Gala/Party for The Sisters of St. Dominic of AmityvilleNov 02, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
The Dominican Sisters of Amityville, a religious community of almost 400 members, began in 1853 when four Sisters left Regensburg, Germany to minister to German immigrants in Most Holy Trinity Parish, Williamsburg, New York. From this small beginning in Brooklyn, the Sisters have developed numerous educational, social services, and hospital institutions steeped in the Dominican tradition of preaching. They have served the community in the five boroughs, Long Island, and beyond for almost 165 years.
This year the Sisters will host their annual Dominican Gala on November 2, 2018 at The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY. We are proud to honor Al Roker, co-host and weatherman of NBC’s The Today Show, and Sister Ave Clark, OP author and founder of the Heart to Heart Ministry in Bayside, NY. Both of whom will be recognized for their extraordinary work throughout the metropolitan area.
Proceeds from the Gala benefit The Congregation’s Ministry Support Fund, which was established to assist many of the Sisters’ ministries in need of additional funding.
