2018 Spirit of Provident Gala
Gala/Party for ProvidentFeb 10, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Helping individuals and families to a Brighter Future is our mission at Provident. We do this through our three program divisions – counseling, crisis intervention/suicide prevention, and after school programs. In 2016, nearly 40,000 individuals received our services which would not be possible without support of the United Way, St. Louis Children Services Fund, and other champions like you.
On Saturday, February 10, 2018, Provident will host the Spirit of Provident Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. We anticipate 350 attendees, including community leaders, members of our Board of Directors and Advisory Council, volunteers, philanthropists, and partners. Our clients and constituents will share stories about the impact Provident is making in St. Louis and beyond. 2017 award winners to be honored. This is our largest fundraising event of the year with a goal of over $200,000.
All proceeds go directly to support Provident, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Funds raised from this event will be used to support our most pressing needs:
- Life Crisis Services saves lives every day and operates using a large volume of dedicated volunteers and practicum students. We are on track to receive more than 50,000 hotline calls this year, a 77% increase over 2016! Resources are needed to support this growing program as we knock down walls, add work stations, and reconfigure our floorplan to better support the talented staff and volunteers who take calls 24/7.
- After school programs which care for nearly 600 youth daily during the school year need new sporting equipment and support for field trips and fine arts activities. The one-act play of The Cat in the Hat, in May 2016 took months to produce and involved over half of the ten schools in the Afterschool program. I am sure you can imagine what an accomplishment that was, especially since this was the first artistic performance for many of these kids.
- Resources for counseling staff. Provident’s General Counseling program provides outpatient psychotherapy to clients ages 2 to 85+. In 2016, a total of 2,199 clients received counseling services from Provident. The average client received 12 hours of treatment, including mental health assessment, psychotherapy, and case management services. New clients generally wait 15 days from the day they call to schedule to the date they are seen for their intake appointment.
The Spirit of Provident Gala will have a live and silent auction and raffle. Any and all support is greatly appreciated. Please consider a donation, such as a gift certificate, tickets, basket of items, service, prize or monetary contribution. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
