The Big Band Ball on Saturday, April 6, 2019 will feature five hours of jazz music performed by Paul Leithold’s Jazz Combo “The Crosse Section”, Best Sellers (OHS Barbershop Quartet), Onalaska Middle School Jazz Band, OHS Jazz 1, OHS Jazz 2, and the West Salem Adult Jazz Band. This annual fundraiser will take place at the Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center.  The event will also include our silent auction fundraiser.  It will truly be a fantastic evening of dinner and jazz music!

As always, the Big Band Ball is the OHS Band Boosters’ largest fundraiser. Funds raised support the band program, scholarships, and the purchase of new instruments to replacing retiring instruments in our inventory. Your support will help the OHS Band program continue to flourish.

The Onalaska Hilltopper Band involves about 150 students and provides a mentoring role to Onalaska Middle School band members. Hilltopper band members participate in marching band, field show, pep band, concert band, show choir band, and jazz band which all involve a year round commitment. In addition to these regular activities, band members have performed at some community functions such as the Freedom Honor Flight’s Welcome Home and Reunion events, Rotary Lights, and the Dresbach Bridge dedication. For March 2019, the Hilltopper Marching Band is excited to perform in Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

It takes a great deal of funding to support a program that provides a high level of performance and educational opportunities.
