The Slider Throwdown pits some of the Valley's best food trucks against each other as they duke it out for the title of Best Slider. Held annually at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale, AZ, the event attracts more than 1,500 attenddees for an afternoon of food, music and family fun. The event includes eight to 10 food trucks, a children's expo and activities, a silent auction (also available online) and live entertainment.

Proceeds from the event support one of Arizona's most vulnerable populations: children in foster care. Currently, more than 13,000 children are in foster care in Arizona, with an average of 32 coming into care each day. And that number is on the rise. They have no voice and no choice about what happens next. Most children enter foster care with little more than the clothes on their backs.

For more than 35 years, the Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation has been funding fun for children in foster care. We pay for the activities that give a kid a childhood - sports registration, music lessons, swim lessons, prom dresses, gymnastics classes, tutoring and more.
