Description

West Hardin Elementary School in Adamsville, TN will be hosting the Spring Spectacular on April 3rd, 2020. This event is an annual festival/fundraiser to provide a night of entertainment for our school's students, family, and friends in our community. Festival activities include games, contests, a silent auction, as well as concession. School faculty, staff, students, parents, local middle/high school students, and community members volunteer their time to make this fundraiser a successful one.

Last year we exceeded our school’s prior fundraising record at this event, aiding our effort to raise the funds necessary to purchase a sidewalk canopy (to protect students from inclement weather when being dropped off for school), a new outdoor school sign (to replace our currently debilitated sign), and to fund invaluable school programs (such as Moby Max, Accelerated Reader, etc.). This year we are continuing our efforts to meet these ambitious goals.

Through the course of this event, our volunteers will meet and interact with a large portion of our school's students and their families, providing the opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and create new ones. In turn, this aids the school by increasing the prospects of volunteer recruitment for future projects/causes. As both a rural and economically disadvantaged public school, we heavily rely on volunteerism and fundraising to benefit our students, faculty, and staff. Our annual festival is our largest fundraising event and aids in funding specific goals we set that fall outside of what our annual school budget allows for, as well as for funding school programs for students that could not be afforded otherwise.

With a student enrollment of about 200, West Hardin Elementary serves children in grades Pre-K through 5. We work to provide a quality instructional program that develops the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of our students. We believe it is our duty to set a great foundation for our students at an early age. Being located in a rural community does not limit student achievement and academic success, as we were designated a Tennessee Reward School this year. We carefully challenge our students in a safe, fun learning environment while nurturing their social and academic growth.
