Description

Since 2012, Finding Them Homes (FTH) has been helping to adopt stray and unwanted dogs and puppies from First Nations Northern Communities around the James Bay Area. As a registered Canadian Charity based in Barrie Ontario, our mission is to rescue dogs that are facing an uncertain future and provide assistance for these communities in the form of spay/neuter clinics, donations of food and other supplies. Our goal is to help reduce the over-population of dogs by re-homing them when possible and preventing further litters from being born. Since our inception, we have successfully adopted over 3500 dogs to loving homes through our rigorous adoption process.

With the growth of our organization, we have recently expanded to help even more remote communities north of Thunder Bay area to reduce their overpopulation concerns. As there are little veterinarian services available in these communities, our support has been a vital addition to help reduce the overpopulation concern. FTH is looking to partner with your company to help save more dogs and puppies from an uncertain future. With expansion into new northern communities this poses an additional set of challenges:

Transporting dogs

Airlifting a dog to Thunder Bay from a remote community costs $80 - $300
Moving a dog from Thunder Bay to Barrie costs up to $300 per trip

Vet care for rescued dogs

Care for injuries and pre-existing conditions

Supplies for dogs in foster care

Special crates, dietary food, nutritional supplements and medication while in foster care

Spay/Neuter clinics

Clinics cost upwards of $15,000

To raise the necessary funding to help the dogs and these communities we run a series of fundraising events as we are totally reliant on our generous supporters. We respectfully ask that your company consider making a donation of a prize for our upcoming event.

We truly appreciate your consideration and are more to provide any other information should you have any questions. Thank you for helping us to help our northern communities.
