Description
- Local businesses and community residents are encouraged to contribute gift cards, gift certificates, and overstock or seasonal merchandise to the Holiday Gift Auction.
- Proceeds from the auction help fund community access television in Knoxville.
- Some businesses provide cash donations at levels of $100, $250, $500, and $1,000, or more.
- Contributing businesses receive various forms of recognition during the event promotional period between the end of October and the middle of December.
- Community residents are also encouraged to donate new and gently used items to the auction.
- Donated items are showcased at the auction website, on CABLE TV, on the CTV live Internet stream, and on social media.
- Promotional posters are placed in local businesses and strategic locations throughout the city.
- Community residents complete a REGISTRATION FORM at the auction site to receive authorization to bid during the 2-week online bidding period.
- Registered users browse the auction website and place their bids online at their convenience.
- Bids are automatically updated at the auction website in real time.
- Bidders are notified via email when they are outbid, if they choose to be.
- On a Saturday, December 11th, CTV will host an 8-hour live simulcast televised special during the final hours of the bidding period. (from noon to 8 pm)
- During the live TV special, the auction will close for 4 separate sets of items at 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm, & 8 pm.
- Winners will receive official notification via telephone and email.
- Items won will be promptly picked up and paid for at CTV during the following week, just in time for Christmas.
