The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) will honor champions of justice during our 24th Annual Access to Justice Gala, which will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the JW Marriott, L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. Our event recognizes distinguished individuals for the exemplary dedication to and support of social justice and the communities LAFLA serves and is attended by more than 500 guests.

We ask that you kindly consider donating an item to the online auction that will accompany the Gala. All funds raised through auction sales, sponsorships, and underwriting will support LAFLA’s vital programs and services. LAFLA is a nonprofit law firm that protects and advances the rights of the most underserved – ensuring that everyone can have access to the justice system. Every year, LAFLA helps more than 100,000 low-income people through free direct representation and assistance in civil legal matters, ranging from eviction defense to domestic violence, government benefits to veterans’ issues.

We need your support to ensure we can continue to fight for equal access to justice, strive toward equity, and provide hope for a better future. Our neighbors living in poverty, continue to face disproportionate challenges due to the pandemic and need our help more than ever. Many of our clients have lost their homes or are on the brink of becoming homeless, while others are trying to raise families but have lost their jobs — and there are many more in difficult, seemingly insurmountable situations. Yet our legal team has addressed our clients’ needs with diligence, creativity, and respect. That means helping clients with limited technology submit hundreds of pages of documents to the court, step-by-step, or finding time to speak with domestic violence survivors when their children cannot overhear the conversation. That also means checking on previous clients to ensure they are safe and secure. These are but a few examples: While the future remains uncertain, what remains steadfast is LAFLA’s commitment to fighting for the rights of our underserved communities.

The Access to Justice Gala has raised more than $10 million over the past 23 years. Your support of this year’s Access to Justice Gala as an auction donor will help ensure another successful event, as well as LAFLA’s continued advocacy.
