Description

The Brady/McCulloch County Chamber of Commerce will host their annual award celebration on Thursday, January 27th, at the Ed Davenport Civic Center. The award celebration is an opportunity for the Chamber to thank their members, celebrate successes of the past year, and recognize outstanding citizens that have made a difference in McCulloch County. In preparation for the event, the Chamber is now accepting nominations for the awards that will be handed out in January. Nomination forms are available from the Chamber of Commerce or you can print them off here.

The Chamber will recognize the following categories during the banquet: Distinguished Public Service, Outstanding Educator, Citizen of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, AgriBusiness of the Year Small Business of the Year, and Large Business of the Year, and the newly added Outstanding Community Organization.

Nominations should be made on behalf of those persons who have given their time unselfishly to the betterment of this community.

The “Distinguished Public Service” award is reserved solely for anyone who serves in a public office or works for a public entity, and criteria should be based on the quality of service in an appointed or elected position. Nominations may be based on excellent contributions made within our community or for exemplary representation of Brady and McCulloch County outside of our area.

The “Outstanding Educator” award is to recognize an educator who has made exemplary contributions to the academic success of their students and profession.

Criteria for “Citizen of the Year” should be based on outstanding activities performed for 2021 year only. The “Lifetime Achievement” recognition will be judged on a culmination of many years of work. “Lifetime Achievement” nominees must have lived in McCulloch County for at least ten years.

Small Business of the Year nominees should have 20 or fewer employees, while Large Business of the Year nominees should have more than 20 employees. The Agribusiness of the Year award is to recognize an agribusiness, including farms and ranches, that has contributed to the overall economy and benefit of McCulloch County.

The Chamber Board of Directors will review the nominations at their January board meeting, and winners will be announced during the Chamber Award Celebration on January 27th. Please include a summary of reasoning with your nominations and have all entries returned to the Chamber office by 5 P.M. on Wednesday, January 19th.

Tickets for the banquet will be available soon. If you have any questions or would like a list of previous honorees, please feel free to call the Chamber office at (325) 597-3491 or email taylor@bradytx.com.
