Description

On Saturday, April 23, the Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) will hold its 2022 Annual Gala celebrating “The Art of Words.” Our gala draws approximately 150 parents, teachers, staff and community members in support of our schools. Through our collective fundraising efforts, we hope to raise $85,000 from the Annual Gala to help us reach our $300,000 stretch goal to fund two additional English Language Arts (ELA) teachers in the middle schools for the 2022-2023 school year, effectively reducing class sizes for middle school ELA. With the support of the Mountain View community, MVEF intends ultimately to raise $1.1M to support extensive programming that supports all students across the district and ensures access to a well-rounded, competitive education.

MVEF Mission: MVEF is a non-profit that works collaboratively with the community to fund programs essential to a well-rounded education for all Mountain View Whisman School District students. MVEF supports art, music, hands on science, environmental education, after-school sports, extended day electives, professional development and science materials.

MVWSD at-a-glance: The Mountain View Whisman School District approximately 5,000 pre-K-8 students in nine elementary schools and two middle schools.  Approximately thirty-two percent of the students are socio-economically disadvantaged and 29-33% (depending on the year surveyed) of the students participate in the free or reduced lunch program.  MVWSD has approximately 50 different languages spoken by students.
