The Daffodils and Diamonds Luncheon was founded by Bethesda’s Alice-Anne Birch in honor of her mother and sister, both of whom succumbed to the disease. The luncheon is held to raise funds for National Foundation for Cancer Research, specifically for breast and ovarian cancers.

The Daffodils and Diamonds Committee is a group of strong and accomplished women who have resolved to move forward together in the fight against cancer. Thanks to their hard work and generosity, hundreds of thousands of life-saving research dollars have been generated for NFCR’s advanced cancer research.

A dedicated committee of volunteers is preparing for the 40th Annual Daffodils & Diamonds Luncheon, Auction, and Fashion Show by Lord & Taylor, which will be held on May 19, 2022, at the beautiful Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland. This elegant event is attended by 300 fabulous women of all ages from throughout the Washington Metropolitan area~~~and beyond!

Under the auspices of the National Foundation for Cancer Research, the Daffodils & Diamonds Accelerator Fund for New Therapies supports breast, ovarian, and lung cancer research programs.  We are again requesting your help to make this year’s luncheon our most profitable and exciting event ever!!

For over 48 years, the National Foundation for Cancer Research, whose international headquarters are located in Rockville, Maryland, has been funding cancer research and prevention, enabling cutting-edge scientists world-wide to make breakthrough discoveries which have greatly impacted prevention, diagnostic techniques, targeted therapies, and novel treatments for cancer.
