The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA has been a cornerstone of our community since 1947 and over the years has pivoted and innovated to meet the changing needs of our New Jersey neighbors. This year, we are celebrating 75 years of service and are looking forward to bringing our in-person events back to where they were pre-pandemic. Our staple event, Fall Harvest, is coming up on Saturday, October 22, and our hope this year is to offer even more free and fun, fall-themed activities for every member of the family. 

Although the last few years have been challenging for our Y and our community, we remain focused on what matters most – the individuals and families who live here. Each year, our Fall Harvest event has also served as a fundraiser for our Annual Campaign, which supports local residents in need. We are looking for raffle prizes for our 2022 Fall Harvest event, with the funds raised from the raffles going to support people right here in our towns. Over 300 people attend our event each year. 

Our Annual Campaign provides scholarships for programs such as Child Care, Summer Camp, swim lessons, chronic disease preventions programs, and more, giving anyone in need access to our Y’s programs and services, regardless of their ability to pay. Last year, we gave out over $225,000 in financial aid to local individuals and families.

With your help, we aim to continue providing scholarships, so that each person is given the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive in a safe and supportive atmosphere. It is our sincere hope that you will support our event.
