Description

The Federation of Community Social Services of BC will be hosting our annual Emerging Issues Conference & AGM on Thursday, June 16th and Friday, June 17th, 2022 at the Penticton Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre in Penticton, British Columbia.   The Emerging Issues Conference focuses on urgent and or emergent issues within the Community Social Services sector of BC, particularly issues that our members have indicated they want to hear more about.

Participants have an opportunity to hear from the government, provincial advocates, and community leaders about work that is changing, inspiring, and supporting our diverse communities across BC.

A Silent Auction will also take place throughout the 2-day event with all proceeds going towards support for The FCSSBC Youth Education Bursary.  The bursary was established by Federation members in 2009 to encourage and support young people to develop a career in our sector. The bursary program supports young people 30 or younger who either are, or have been in care, and who want to pursue post-secondary education towards a career in human social services. The bursary is available to a maximum of $2,000 per student, per academic year (two semesters). Students are welcome to apply over multiple years as we share a long-term interest in their studies and development into social services professionals.
