The Parent Resource Center of Port Washington saw that there is a divide in the education system due to factors such as funds, transportation and language. More and more families are enrolling children into preschool starting as early as 2 years old and other children who cannot attend are falling behind. The PRC has created a program called The Stepping Stones, which offers free pre-school readiness, classes, caregiver/child separation, free transportation, scholarships, field trips, support and more. Our annual gala is our largest fundraiser of the year. We use funds from this event to keep our doors open, ability to grow enrichment program and keep finding incredible teachers for our families. This year we are also honoring four women that went above and beyond helping us stay afloat during the pandemic by being a sponsor and opening up their space to hold classes outdoors. We were able during the pandemic to switch to virtual learning when we couldn't be outside, hand deliver all supplies and deliver much needed items such as monthly diapers, wipes and femine products. We hope to continue to do this for more years to come.
