Description

Children's Aid, Inc., a 501(3)(c) nonprofit located in Calvert County, Maryland, has been supporting our neighbors in need for the last 13 years. Through our programs, we provide assistance to local children by promoting the importance of education and literacy as well as providing children with opportunities for physical activity.

Our annual online Holiday Auction will run from November 21 - December 4, 2022.  All of the funds raised from this event will be used to further Children’s Aid’s work in our local community.  All donors will have their company website linked to the auction website, will be acknowledged on Children’s Aid, Inc.’s website and social media channels, and are acknowledged in our January 2023 newsletter.

Currently, we operate several programs. The Fresh Start Back to School program provides children with a new backpack filled with new school supplies.  To date, over 1,775 local students have participated in the program and were able to start the new school year with the supplies they needed. In an effort to provide at-risk children with opportunities for physical activity, we provide Youth Sports Scholarships for a variety of activities, including football, soccer, basketball, and baseball for elementary school students.  The purpose of the Great Book Giveaway Program is twofold: to give books to children who otherwise might not have books (or many books) of their own and to educate parents on the importance of reading aloud to their young children. The Christmas Cheer Program provides filled Christmas Stockings to youth participants of the local Shop with a Cop program.  The Memorial Scholarship Program grants a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior pursuing a degree in Education and a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior pursuing post-secondary career education or technical training. Our newest program, the Community Care Initiative, provides personal care items to vulnerable adults in Calvert County.
