Description

The Open Space Council is hosting an Online Silent Auction to benefit our land and water conservation programs in the St. Louis area starting November 25, 2022. Tangible goods, gift cards, and baskets will be auctioned to support our organization’s mission and volunteers.

We have seen how essential parks, open spaces, and the natural environment are to our communities’ health and well-being in the last years. Ensuring our region’s open spaces, parks, waterways, and trails are clean and maintained will always be crucial, and we will continue to work to restore and protect them. We hope you will consider donating an item, experience, gift card, or certificate for use in our online auction if you are able. A donation of any amount is immensely appreciated and makes a difference to support our conservation efforts.

The Open Space Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that has been committed to conserving Missouri’s land and waterways since 1965. You can find more information on our website at www.openspacestl.org. With the help of donations from the community and our members, This past year our programs have achieved the following:

• Operation Clean Stream and Confluence Trash Bash: During Confluence Trash Bash along the Missouri River in April and our 55th annual Meramec River cleanup in August, over 1,100 volunteers marked 416 storm drain inlets, removed 879 tires, 5,370 lbs. of metal, and 592.5 cubic yards of trash and other debris from parks and the river and its tributaries.

• Operation Wild Lands: Launched the Community Stewardship Alliance at St. Vincent, Lower Meramec, and Creve Coeur Parks. Volunteers donated over 200 hours to restore native habitat by removing 2.62 acres of invasive bush honeysuckle to encourage native plants to regenerate. Volunteers also planted over 50 native trees in these parks to aid in biodiversity efforts.

• Land Trust: OSC, along with our partners, conserved 156 acres of private land as an addition to Greensfelder Park to ensure that this beautiful green space would become part of our region’s public lands system for the enjoyment of present and future generations.

The generous donations we receive from local companies and individuals like you help us continue our efforts to make rivers healthier and preserve beautiful open spaces forever. Please consider donating today.
