Legacy Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization (Tax ID # 20-3328898) that serves over 700 students in the Brambleton area of Ashburn. Legacy is a great community school and the only elementary school from the Independence pyramid which houses an Early Childhood Special Education preschool program. The PTO is entirely made up of volunteer parents and Legacy community members. It actively supports the school through volunteerism and fundraising, with all profits going directly back to Legacy Elementary.  

During the 2021-2022 school year, the PTO was able to provide three software programs, IXL, Math Seeds, and leveled reading books to the school-wide student population. The costs to purchase these classroom resources total approximately $7,750. The PTO also spent approximately $10,000 on Teacher Appreciation related activities. This year we are looking forward to providing flexible seating options for some of our classrooms, as well as giving our teachers a means of purchasing grade-level items as they see fit. In addition, the PTO provided free School Supply Kits to school families who require assistance and food donations to the school families who require assistance, as well as our local food bank.
