The Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, NY host their annual Autumn Evening Gala each October. The event includes dinner and cocktails, as well as a live silent auction and raffles. Our event honors two award recipients each year for their outstanding service to the community, especially serving the poor and marginalized. Proceeds from this year’s Gala benefit the Congregation’s Ministry Support Fund, which was established to assist many of the Sisters’ ministries in need of additional funding. The Sisters are made up of educators, social workers, lawyers, artists, and peace and justice advocates, to name just a few. 

The Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, NY is a community of women religious with almost 400 members and began in 1853 when four Sisters left Regensburg, Germany to minister to German immigrants in Williamsburg, NY.  From this small beginning in Brooklyn, the Sisters have developed numerous educational, social services, and hospital institutions steeped in the Dominican tradition. They have served the community in the five boroughs of New York, Long Island, and beyond for 170 years.
