Sail Chicago is requestion in-kind gift donations for our organization’s upcoming End of Season Dinner and Silent Auction on October 12, 2023.

Sail Chicago is a not-for-profit (501(c)(3) organization, Tax Exempt ID 364542276), 100% volunteer-run community sailing program that has a mission of offering accessible and quality instruction in sailing and boating safety in an equitable and inclusive environment, and to provide affordable sailing opportunities to its members and others in the Chicago area. Two years ago, Sail Chicago formed a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee as well as a scholarship program to make sailing more accessible to diverse members of the Greater Chicago community and award recipients with free sailing instruction, respectively.  

 
Sail Chicago would therefore like to request an in-kind donation of an item such as a gift card that could be auctioned off in a silent auction or used as a raffle item for the organization's End of Year Dinner & Silent Auction event. The proceeds from the silent auction/raffle will be used solely to fund the 2024 Scholarship Program, so that diverse community members interested in exploring the sailing recreation may do so without a financial barrier. This 2023 season, we have five scholarship recipients - four new sailors in Crew courses and one student returning from the 2022 cohort to complete their First Mate course.
