Description

Ring in the Year of the Rabbit, Old Shanghai style, at our annual fundraising banquet.  We'll enjoy dinner, entertainment, silent auction, raffle and more!

Established in 1968, the San Gabriel Valley Chinese Cultural Association (SGVCCA) is a non-profit organization supporting families with Chinese culture and language classes for over 55 years.  We also share our culture with the community at large through performances by our Chinese Lion and Dragon dance youth group.

In 2022, SGVCCA performed almost every week, ringing in weddings, business openings, city festivals, and special community events.  Being invited to the Getty Center and Segerstrom Center for the Arts have been momentous opportunities for our youth to showcase their craft and culture.  The biggest smiles cannot be avoided when audiences see a blinking, curious Chinese lion approach, or if Barney, our steam-breathing red dragon manned by over 15 people, weaves its way through a parade.

Free classes are provided twice a week, training our youth group in artistry and physical stamina, as well as the discipline and leadership skills needed to successfully work as a team.

To keep the program running, our goal is to raise $30,000 annually.  This helps cover costs such as our scholarship program, a safe practice facility, maintaining our van and hand-made lions and dragons from Hong Kong.

Please consider donating your products or services to be raffled, auctioned or used in a swag bag at our Spring Banquet on March 4, 2023—our main fundraising event of the year!   Your contribution will be acknowledged in:

-       Banquet feature in membership emails and social media campaigns
-       Company graphic on banquet media (digital screens, printed materials, and banner)
-       Special Acknowledgement during SGVCCA's banquet

Donations and contributions are tax deductible as we are a 501c3 non-profit organization.  A list of corporate sponsorship options is also enclosed for your consideration.  For more information, please contact us at events@sgvcca.org.  We thank you in advance for your ongoing support of SGVCCA and look forward to hearing from you!
