My name is Mervine Nelson, and I am writing on behalf of Winslow Public Library seeking support for our annual Summer Reading Program (SRP). The Collaborative Summer Library Program theme this year is All Together Now. Each summer, our goal is to provide free community events to highlight and support summer learning and reading. The SRP is not just for kids! Our goal this year is to continue to encourage teens and adults to sign up; our overall goal is to register 325 participants this summer!

We are seeking donations for our End of Summer Raffle Drawing, performer fees, and any library needs. The raffle has become a major success and provides fabulous incentives for our readers to look forward to.

Winslow Public Library seeks the following donations:

·         Monetary - Monetary donations to pay entertainers, purchase supplies, advertising, etc.

·         Gift cards/Vouchers - Gift cards/Vouchers are popular with teens and adults.

·         Prizes - We have set up an Amazon Smile Shopping List for items your organization can purchase, then donate, that would make great Raffle Drawing incentives. Other popular prizes are: books, literature t-shirts, early literacy toys, Legos, DVD’s, etc.

Sponsors who have responded by April 14, 2023 will have their logo on our Summer Reading Program Calendar as advertising. The calendar is distributed to all schools in the surrounding area, several laundromats, and various city sites. Last year, we gave out over 1,000 calendars! Donations received after April 14th will not be on the Summer Reading Program Calendar but will still receive advertising in later promotions. We will feature a list of sponsors in The Town Crier in July, on the Library’s website, as well as the Friends of the Library Facebook Page.
