Description

The Kansas City, Kansas Public Library system hosts a summer reading event each summer to help encourage children, teens, & adults to read during a time when such skills see a decline.  Through programs & incentives, patrons can earn prizes by completing reading logs and enter to win larger items through our drawing.  The program is held for two months (June & July) at all five KCKPL physical locations as well as our three mobile libraries.  The program typically sees about 1,000 to 2,000 participants each summer and is free to participate in (we do not sell raffle tickets or raise money during this event but patrons will earn free entries into the drawing).
