On April 26, 2024, Friends of Burr School will be hosting our 15th Annual Gala at the River Room at Burning Bush Brewery.  We would like to ask for your support in donating a product or service to the Silent, Online, and Live Auction.  

The Friends of Burr Annual Gala is our largest fundraiser, where we welcome over 200 local parents, staff, and friends to support our public elementary school.  In 2024, our “Burr Boogie Bash” themed Gala includes both a live and silent auction, several raffles and is also a big party celebrating our community of parents, teachers, administration, sponsors, and neighborhood partners.  In addition to our event on April 26th, we will also be hosting an online auction from April 21 - April 29th.

Jonathan Burr Elementary is a Level 1+ school of choice for over 450 Kindergarten-8th grade students living in and around the Bucktown/Wicker Park and Logan Square neighborhoods as well as throughout the city of Chicago.  The Friends of Burr mission is to raise funds to supplement Burr’s Annual Operating Budget in order to provide financial support for academic programs and the educational life of our students and their families.  

Thanks to our generous donors, last year we were able to fulfill much of Burr Administrations wish lists including resurfacing a much needed gymnasium floor  and painting classrooms in our 125 year old building. 

This year we will be providing funding for larger cultural celebrations at Burr including Hispanic Heritage, Night of Black Excellence and American Asian Pacific Islander Events and more. We also fund dance and fine arts programming for our students and will continue to raise money towards our very much needed field renovation.
