First Tee—South Dakota is a non-profit youth development organization that impacts the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. First Tee-South Dakota is conducting an online auction fundraiser for our program. This event is one of the larger fundraising opportunities during the year for us. The online auction will be held from April 8-14, 2024.

With your support we will be able to raise money to help the participants of First Tee—South Dakota. The money raised will be used to offer scholarships and equipment to the at-risk and underprivileged youth from our community. Our program does not turn any young person away due to an inability to pay. Because of this, we have many young people who have never held a club, or don’t own equipment. These young people will be very excited to use the equipment we will be able to provide with the money raised from this event.

First Tee teaches young people, through our life skills education, values that are not only necessary on the golf course but also essential in everyday life. A few of the values we teach are sportsmanship, respect, responsibility, courtesy, confidence, judgment, integrity, perseverance, and honesty. This past year we had over 1,634 participants on the golf course (over 870 at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls), 79 elementary schools involved with the First Tee School Program, and over 2,400 in Community Outreach Programs (3 locations of Homework and Hitting at Salvation Army and Boys and Girls Clubs). We also have 5 affiliate sites who are offering the life and golf skill program of First Tee (Aberdeen, Brookings, Dell Rapids, Madison, and Milbank.) Overall, we have more than 36,000 youth participating in First Tee programs in South Dakota.
