Description

The 34th Friends of the Ridgewood Public Library Author Luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at Seasons in Washington Township, NJ. This much-loved event is attended by over 400 book lovers and supporters from Ridgewood and the surrounding Bergen County area. The 2023 Author Luncheon was a sell out in record time!

This year we are excited to welcome New York Times bestselling author and winner of the National Book Award Colum McCann (Apeirogon, Let the Great World Spin, TransAtlantic, Thirteen Ways of Looking.) His latest book American Mother will be released on March 4, 2024.

The event includes a meet and greet/book signing opportunity with the author, an extensive silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, cocktail hour, seated three course lunch, and the main event, Colum McCann's talk and Q&A. Ticket prices range from $100 to $250 a person.

The Author Luncheon is the Friends' keystone fundraising event and is successful thanks to the very generous support of businesses and individuals. Your donation to the silent auction would be greatly appreciated. 100% of all funds raised through the silent auction support the programs of the Ridgewood Public Library.

A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Friends is dedicated to supporting the library by raising funds outside the normal operating budget in order to provide cultural and educational programming and services to benefit the community. In 2023 over 30,000 people attended more than 3,600 programs!  Some of the programs and services we support include: the 21st Annual Reel Voices Documentary Film Festival, school-wide Reading Marathon activities & events, Children’s Story Times, Teen Tech Club & Creative Writing, English as a Second Language (ESL) Program, Museum Pass Program, Lecture Series covering a breadth of timely topics, online subscription services, Quarterly Town-wide Newsletter and many more.
