Description

This is the major annual fundraiser for our BSA Troops (Troop 97B and Troop 97G). Funds raised are used to supplement programming, purchase equipment, subsidize trips, and for special events for the scouts.

Both of our active troops spend much of their time outdoors. We emphasize the
Aims of Scouting: Citizenship, Leadership and Character Development, and Physical and Mental Fitness. Troop 97 also emphasizes community service as an important way of demonstrating good citizenship. Scouts in the program participate in a vast array of activities which include hiking, sailing, fishing, camping, cycling, and many more. Scouts are also required to participate in community service activities. These include working with the Nyack Homeless Project, collecting and packing food for People to People, volunteering at local school events in neighboring school districts, and clean-up/conservation projects with Keep Rockland Beautiful.
