Description

Who is “PILG?”

PILG is a student-run organization at Saint Louis University School of Law that aims to support and uplift the public interest sector of law: legal and non-legal nonprofits, government workers, and legal services for populations that have been historically underrepresented and underserved in our community.

PILG’s Mission: To educate, inform and sensitize the Saint Louis University School of Law student body to public interest law issues and provide a forum for the discussion of such issues.

What is the PILG Auction?

The PILG Auction is an annual event planned and organized by PILG which raises money for The Dagen Fund. This year is the auction’s 41st Anniversary. The event will be taking place at the Franklin Room in Soulard on April 5th.

The Dagen Fund is a fellowship fund which provides law students with summer stipends, allowing them to provide much needed legal services at nonprofits and government entities locally, nationally or internationally — services these organizations need more than ever.

Without the Dagen Fund, many law students would be unable to accept unpaid summer positions in the public interest field. For testimonials from past recipients, please visit this link → https://www.slu.edu/law/support-pilg-2020/index.php.

Why should my business donate?

Donations from your business would contribute to the baskets we create for the auction, and larger/more valuable items or “experiences” are bid on individually. Your items will be auctioned off both in-person and online. The proceeds go directly to the Dagen Fund and to SLU Law students. Typical donations include anything from gift cards, experiences, to desirable items and swag.
